As you can import the data from Text/CSV, the same way you can import the data from the text file. The reason is that Power BI provides the same option to import the CSV file as well as a text file. Let us understand this with the help of below steps.
Import Data From Text Using Power Query
Step 1: Get data from Text
To get data from Text you should have your data in a text file saved on your PC. Then, you can easily connect within a few clicks in Power BI-
Home > Get Data > Text/CSV
Text/CSV is the same option from where you can import both texts as well as CSV data into Power Query as shown below.
Step 2: Link the Text data into Power Query
Once you click on the connect option in Power BI, it will take you to the directory where you have saved your Text file. You just have to select the file and click on the open as shown below.
Step 3: Close & Apply
After clicking on Open option, the selected Text file gets open in Power Query as shown in below picture. Here, you can view the data and do the required data manipulations. After doing so, click on the Close & Apply button.
