Learn How to Rename A Column Using Power Query

One of the important and most needed features of Power Query is the Renaming Column Headers. Many people facing issues to rename column names using Power Query. Rename A Column With Power Query

Let’s observe the below steps to rename column headers-

Step 1: Load Data in Power Query

When you load the data in Power Query, you will observe that the column headers are named as Column1, Column2 etc. The original column headers are placed in the first row as shown in the below picture. Therefore, we need to change the position of these column headers.

Step 2: Use First Row as Headers

To use the first row as headers in Power Query, go to-

Transform  >  Use First Row as Headers  >  Use First Row as Headers option

USE FIRST ROW AS HEADERS

Step 3: Close & Apply

As you can see in the below picture, the column headers are changed to the original column names. You can now click on the Close & Apply button to save the changes.
